Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team
Player Menu
The best type of menu has snappy response time and crisp audio feedback.
For that reason I find that I enjoy older titles where menu functionality was more of a focus than stylistic pursuits.

A great example is the Mystery Dungeon series for the Nintendo family of handheld consoles.
To begin I started with a basic open and close functionality. From there I found the sound files from the original game and started setting up the sound profile. Lots of chirps!
Next I designed the flashing prompter to indicate player selection. Then I added navigation cycling and chirps.
I was curious about the "typewriter" style text generation in the "ground" menu. It was a fun challenge to figure out!
A more total showcase of the previous features.
Here is an example of the menu during regular gameplay. Special thanks to Mystaldi for the audio resources used in this project.
